This is a full-time, on-site position at MINT's downtown Dallas headquarters. The Junior Data Analyst will report to and assist the Analytics Manager in creating and maintaining reports and dashboards for the company, to transform raw data into information that can be utilized by business leaders to make decisions. The ideal candidate will be able to function effectively with limited oversight and a methodical attention to detail. Their work will involve collecting and cleaning data from multiple sources, running ad hoc reports, building automated dashboards, investigating and fixing any potential errors/bugs, and working with the Database Administrator to ensure that the information in our database is error-free for accurate reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Typical Responsibilities

    • Run ad hoc reports
    • Build and maintain automated dashboards
    • Troubleshoot and fix any errors/bugs
    • Maintain core reference data sets
    • Collect and clean data from a variety of database and non-database sources
    • Communicate the results of data analysis in written and verbal form to managers or leadership
    • Support various departments in reaching their goals through analysis
    • Monitor data to quickly identify changes in financial and business trends
Qualifications:
  • Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • A strong understanding of formal logic, set theory, probability, statistics, and other fields of mathematics that form the critical foundation of data analysis
    • Functional knowledge of SQL
    • An empirical mindset when finding answers to business questions
    • Methodical attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
    • Drive to learn new skills and build your understanding of the business

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or a related field is a strong plus
    • Advanced knowledge of SQL, including complex multi-statement queries and query optimization
    • Experience using Google Sheets or Excel for data analysis
    • Experience working with a data visualization tool such as Google Data Studio, Tableau, Qlik Sense, Amazon Quicksight, PowerBI, etc.
    • Experience with Python programming
  • Working Environment and Physical Demand
    The working environment for this position is mainly the standard office setting and occasionally events of various settings require heavy lifting of event equipment, tools, and supplies including tables, chairs, boxes of materials, tent, tablet stands, and wheel of fortune game. Use of a computer and other typical office equipment is required as well.
