Juvenile Justice Relief Staff Job at Center for Human Development
CHD's Secure Residential Treatment (SRT) works with adolescent males adjudicated to the courts and in the Department of Youth Services (DYS). This may include day, evening, weekend, or awake overnight shifts ( Shifts are 7am-3pm; 3pm-11pm; 11pm-7am). Shift duties include responsibility for compliance to program policies and procedures, manage the behavior, activities, and movement of program youths; interact with youths in a professional manner while maintain a secure and safe environment; provide counseling and advocacy services for youths; develop, implement, and/or lead resident recreational activities. Must be able to attend a 3 weeks of DYS basic training academy during the day (8:30am-5pm) upon hire.
Requirements Knowledge of adolescent behavioral dynamics, knowledge of service provision to client population, able to respond effectively to crisis situation, demonstrated appropriate role model behaviors, demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills; effective de-escalation skills; capability of doing physical restraints or holds as needed.
