Job Title: Kodosky Day Camp Manager
FLSA Status: Seasonal Staff Summer Camp Staff

Location: Kodosky Service Center, Austin, Texas
Number of positions: 1
Weekly Rate: Starting at $600-D.O.E.
Position Summary:

Oversees all camp activities, programming, campers, and staff for summer day camp. The Kodosky Day Camp Manager promotes unity, positivity, and customer-friendly service throughout all facets of the camp.

Position Responsibilities

• Promote and support Girl Scout program philosophies of the GSUSA & GSCTX.
• Responsible for coordinating all camp activities including food service, programming, scheduling staff and volunteer management.
• Ensure camp is providing quality programming and camp experience for campers in keeping with Girl Scout objectives, outcomes, health Department regulations, and Safety Activity Checkpoints.
• Responsible for ensuring health and safety of all campers and staff.
• Responsible for providing records of day camp attendance and program usage.
• Responsible for maintaining cohesive camp environment by communicating with management staff, and Senior Camp Services Manager.
• Responsible for approving schedules including camp activities and staff.
• Provide quality customer service that resolves concerns in a timely manner.
• Promote Girl Scouting in a positive manner to the public and co-workers.
• Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Membership in GSUSA is required.

Job Qualifications

• Must be at least 25 years of age.
• Bachelors degree is preferred.
• Camp administrative experience.
• Meet personal qualifications for all staff as outlined in Safety Activity Checkpoints.
• Adheres to Personnel Policies for Seasonal Camp Staff.
• Experience as a group leader, camper, or teacher is required.
• Training in Girl Scout outdoor program, camp counseling, leadership, and training techniques is preferred.
• Experience in supervision of girls and staff.
• First aid training is desirable.
• Proven leadership ability working with children ages six through seventeen.
• Proven ability to supervise multiple staff and continuous activities.
• Fluent in Spanish and English is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending and twisting upper body.
• Capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
• Capable of viewing computer monitor for long periods.

Environmental Demands

• Outdoor activity and exposure to weather.

Other Working Conditions

• Continuous requirement for professional demeanor and appropriate camp staff attire.
• A criminal background check is required.
• Continuous work as a team member and ability to work independently with some supervision.
• Frequent work under stress and under pressure of deadlines with overlapping projects.
• Continuous ability to work well with others.
