Key Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques for working at the bench; pH, viscosity, and stability studies
• Compile and analyze test information as needed to report to supervisor
• Operation and maintenance of GC equipment
• Performing assay, impurity, and dissolution analyses for Active ingredients in OTC products.
• Develop and Perform method optimization and validation studies
• Compile, analyze and document analytical data, including chromatographic data
• Participate and resolve laboratory investigations of unexpected analytical results
• Perform routine/non-routine data analysis calculations
• Document analytical data under cGMP and corporate guidelines
• Perform wet chemistry tests with minimum supervision
• Maintain batch ticket paper-based database
• Confer with Quality Manager as needed on procedures, processes or analytical methods
• Maintain required data throughout each quality control procedure
• Maintain accurate real-time entries on lab notebooks to ensure accuracy and completeness and associated electronic databases
• Support cGMP laboratory initiatives following laboratory SOPs
• Maintain laboratory raw material database.
• Perform incoming raw material and finished product testing
• Prepare samples to send out to a third-party testing lab for Micro Testing
• Maintain product retain logbooks
• Perform daily calibration of laboratory equipment and maintain calibration records of the laboratory as well as production equipment
• Organizing and Maintaining cGMP’s (Current Good Manufacturing Procedures), GLP’s (Good Laboratory Procedures) paperwork for the personal care industry
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities Qualification:

• Attention to detail and analytical thinking, ability to apply general concepts to specific problems to produce positive results is a must.
• Has basic working knowledge and understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of GMP OTC/Cosmetics Industry.
• Strong documentation and organization skills.
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• Professional written and oral communication skills.
• Computer literate in Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.

Education and Training:

• Associates of Science or higher in Chemistry and/or a combination of vocational training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standards listed above and provides the required knowledge and skills.
• 2-3 years’ experience in a laboratory setting preferably in GMP setting for personal care, hair care, and skincare cosmetics/OTC industry

Physical Demands:

While performing duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to stand (for extended periods), stoop, bend, walk and use hands to handle objects, tools, and controls, reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee will be required to handle chemicals and solvents as required during the course of job execution. Employees may be required to move or lift objects up to 25 lbs. Employee will be required to wear appropriate safety gear.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
