This entry level land acquisition and real estate position is an exciting opportunity to join a successful public homebuilder and begin to build the foundation of your real estate and land acquisition career.
We are currently seeking a qualified Land Acquisition Specialist to join our team. In this position, the recent college graduate will be hired and will spend, at least, 3-6 months of employment in our Real Estate/Land Acquisition Training Program in Denver, CO. After successful completion of the training program, the employee will then be placed into a Land Acquisition role across one of our divisions in Colorado or may be eligible for relocation to another one of our homebuilding divisions across the country.
The Land Acquisition Specialist will play a key role in the company’s Land functions and assist in evaluating land acquisition opportunities.

Position Summary

Responsibilities
- Coordinate and conduct the technical and financial feasibility analysis of acquisition opportunities.
- Obtain and analyze Due Diligence materials for project feasibility.
- Assist managers in the preparation of corporate land acquisition approval packages.
- Support and assist with entitlement/zoning documents.
- Conduct research to assist managers in determining project timelines and schedules.
- Conduct general research in selected jurisdictions and solo-markets to facilitate the identification of land opportunities.
- Perform various administrative tasks to assist in the land acquisition process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, real estate, business or related field.

The candidate will possess good human relations/interpersonal skills.

Ability to work well with all levels of management.

Good negotiation skills.

Great planning and organizing ability. Skills in exercising and completing initiatives, problem-solving, and sound decision making.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Subject to applicable laws, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by start date under M.D.C. Holdings, Inc. vaccination mandate for all employees who will be working in the Corporate/Home Office at 4350 S. Monaco St. effective Nov. 1st, 2021.

Compensation
- Base Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
- FLSA Status: Exempt
- Bonus Type: Year-End Discretionary
