As a Land Survey Technician or Land Surveyor in Training at Widseth, you will obtain data for a variety of residential and commercial survey projects, such as: boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, subdivision platting, easement exhibits, flood insurance surveys, split lot surveys, and infrastructure/ construction staking. If you love variety of projects along with working outdoors this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
- Searching for section corners, property stakes, and survey points under the direction of a land surveyor or engineer.
- Comparing survey computations with applicable standards to determine adequacy, compliance, and quality of data.
- Preparing topographic and contour maps of land surveyed, including site features and other relevant information. Other items such as charts, drawings, and survey notes will need to be prepared in a timely manner to ensure deadlines are met.
- Interaction with clients, contractors, and the general public, making teamwork and excellent communications key.
- 2 + years related experience working as a technician in the field.
- Associates degree in Land Surveying or Civil Technology.
- Knowledge of survey equipment such as GPS, Total Station, and Automatic level.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Valid driver’s license.
