BHI Energy is looking for candidates for Landscaping positions at the Catawba Nuclear Power Plant in York, SC
Job Requirements:
Candidates must be able to pass General Employee Training (GET) and other station specific or job-related required training. In addition, candidates must successfully complete a Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ) and self-disclosure forms, which includes a criminal history background check, Fitness for Duty Testing (FFD) and other employment screening activities.
Job Details/ Essential Job Functions:
Landscape workers responsibilities include maintaining designated grounds and outdoor areas using hand, gas, or electric tools and equipment and riding vehicles. Duties will include but are not limited to mowing using hand and riding lawn mowers, applying pesticides and fertilizer, re-seeding, de-icing roads and walkways, clearing damaged trees, operating leaf blowers to remove leaves and debris, transporting and applying top soil. Landscape Workers will also assist in irrigating areas via use (Preventive maintenance) of sprinkler systems.
Landscape Workers are required (following training) to operate power tools such as hand and riding mowers, push mowers, edger's, trimmers, chainsaws, backhoes, bush hogs, and to perform preventative maintenance on equipment. Landscaper may drive client/company vehicle in the performance of their duties.
Landscape workers will use the appropriate protective equipment (PPE), which may include dust masks, respirators, safety glasses, hard hats, chaps, etc. as conditions may warrant.
Qualifications Required:
- Must meet education/training minimum and desired requirements of the most senior applicable duty area classification.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Satisfy all requirements to obtain a Level II Nuclear access badge.
- Experience in specific duty area activities.
- Basic Computer Skills
- Possess good oral and written communication skills.
- Pro-Actively support BHI and Duke Energy's programs, policies, procedures, strategic plans and specific goals.
- Able to lift 50lbs

- The plant workforce is a highly energetic and is a professional team with many career disciplines involved in the operation of the plant and the production of energy. Interaction with the plant staff is an everyday occurrence that requires the candidate have a professional appearance, demeanor and possess good communication skills while providing excellent customer service.
- Good teamwork is essential and the ideal candidate(s) should be able to work with safety and quality as a prerequisite for all their activities and have a sense of accomplishment in performing the work to the best of their ability as well as providing a safe and professionally clean environment when their tasks have been completed.
- Must have High School or GED
- Must be able to pass a drug test
- Must be able to pass a security background
