Clear Brook Crossing Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center is looking for a Laundry Aide. The laundry aide is responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas. Willing to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis as assigned by the Housekeeping / Laundry Supervisor. We have one opening for a FT Laundry Aide position. Shift schedule is from 5:30am to 5:30pm.

Essential Functions:

• To assure resident safety.
• Assembles materials and supplies from the supply room and transports them to the work area.
• Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings and equipment and mopping floors with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.
• Uses damp, disinfectant-treated cloths and vacuum cleaner to dust windowsills, blinds, floors, furniture, and equipment in an orderly fashion.
• am - 5:30pm. Scours and polishes sink, tubs, mirrors, and similar equipment.
• Replenishes supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items.
• Requests help in moving heavy furniture and in turning mattresses; reports any mechanical failures or negative conditions observed in assigned area to supervisor.
• Washes walls and ceilings using water, cleaning solutions, sponge, and cloths.
• Gathers and disposes of trash, washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers, and relines with plastic bags.
• Removes soiled linen from all areas.
• Promotes positive public relations with patients, residents, family members and guests.
• Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
• Use appropriate workplace behavior and adhere to dress code at all times

Work Conditions:

• Exposure to dust, fumes, odors, gases, chemical substances and electric currents; possible exposure to body fluids such as saliva, vomit, urine, blood and semen during waste disposal and other routine activities

General Requirements:

• Minimum, high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous cleaning experience in a long-term care / skilled nursing facility setting preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to withstand long periods of standing, walking, bending and/or stooping; lifting, pushing and/or pulling of objects from 10 to 50 pounds; ability to operate vacuums and other cleaning appliances; visual acumen required for inspections and recognition of hazards
