About the Role

The Human Resources Leave Specialist is responsible for administering PREMIER’s leave of absence program. This role is required to support and ensure completion of compliance related duties in accordance with company policy, state and federal leave laws. This role is also responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential leave of absence information within our Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer PREMIER’s leave of absence programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal, state and local laws and ensure compliance with HIPAA and company policies
  • Effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities
  • Works closely with employees to ensure that all relevant leave of absence documentation is completed and submitted for timely review
  • Communicate with employees and management regarding the leave process. Ensure that all parties are aware of the qualifications and required documentation to meet leave requirements
  • Accurately process leave actions in timekeeping platform and HRIS to ensure employees are paid accurately and correctly
  • Preserves confidentiality of employee files and medical documentation
  • Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws
  • Work with vendor to process worker’s compensation claims in a timely manner
  • Coordinates and administers PREMIER’s employee awards program
  • Responds to and resolves customer service requests according to PREMIER’s policies in a prompt, efficient, and courteous manner at all times
  • Maintains confidential information, prioritizes work, and demonstrates problem solving skills
  • Assist with projects and initiatives as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field of study highly preferred
  • 1 – 3 years of relevant work experience in Human Resources or combination of education/experience preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of federal and state leave laws
  • Prior experience with HRIS experience preferred
    • Experience using Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG) is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal) with a highly demonstrated standard of excellent customer service skills required
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
  • Strong Computer skills; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to learn, adapt to change, and become proficient quickly
  • Detail oriented, ability to produce accurate and timely results
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects with competing priorities & deadlines
