JOB SUMMARY

Perform a variety of nursing skills and supportive functions under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse. Provide supervised care for patients as assigned and directed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

Perform direct and indirect nursing functions under the supervision of a registered nurse, according to established policies and procedures.

Administer medications as ordered by physicians.;

Observe and record the patient’s response to treatments and medications.

Report as appropriate and communicate pertinent information to appropriate staff.

Participate in patient and family teaching.

Perform complete assessments, report ABN to RN

Perform duties to maintain efficiency of unit, to include cleanliness and stocking of supplies.

Provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Participate in departmental Continuous Quality Improvement and Assurance activities.

Attend at least 80% of scheduled staff and in-service education meetings, annually.

Complete required documentation duties in a timely, accurate, and concise manner.

Maintain confidentiality of all patient and personal information and protect the patients’ rights.

Comply with unit and hospital dress code, and attendance and punctuality policies.

Transcribe physician orders promptly and accurately.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCAITON AND TRAINING

Graduate of an approved licensed practical nurse program.

Currently licensed as LPN

Familiar with equipment's, tools, and work aids used in the delivery of patient care on a designated unit.

BCLS certification required.

MINIMUM WORK EXPIERENCE

Possess knowledge of the nursing process, including skills for the assigned area of duty.
