Job Summary



The Lift Operations Assistant Manager is responsible for the performance of the Lift Operators, and excellent customer services for our skiing and snowboarding guests. Works closely with the Lift Operations Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following but not limited to:
Promotes and exemplifies the Homewood culture of exceptional guest service, team work, innovation, and fun! Works well independently and with others. Enjoys "pitching in" whenever and wherever assistance is needed. Conducts and shows a high level of professionalism. Values our safety culture, our community, and maintaining a healthy, sustainable environment. Ensures that guests and employees have a fun, safe, and memorable experience. Asks questions, shares concerns, or gives ideas on innovation and efficiencies that improve both the guests' and employees' experience.
  • Hires, orients, directs, motivates, evaluates, and disciplines all assigned staff and oversees work schedules in accordance with Homewood policies.
  • Delivers and is model in providing excellent service to customers, employees, and business partners.
  • Assists with snow removal including shoveling snow on ramps and directing employees to shovel snow.
  • Completes reports and other paperwork related to lifts and personnel.
  • Pulls levers to start, stop, and adjust speed of lifts including rope tows, chair lifts, and T-bars.
  • Scans tickets for passengers on lifts.
  • Assists skiers/snowboarders on and off lifts, and instructs them in safety procedures.
  • Observes guests loading lifts to ensure they are safely seated and safety bars are secured.
  • Uphold and enforce total adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Adherence to all state, federal, and county laws.
  • Must be able to perform duties in the Lift Operations department including Lift Operator, Zone Supervisor, and Lift Operations Assistant Manager.
  • Ensures the Lift Operations department and employees are in accordance with its Department Operating Plan (DOP).
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises up to 50 employees in the Lift Operations department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work: appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Have excellent customer service, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and courtesy.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skiing or snowboarding ability.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Experience driving over-the-snow vehicles (snowmobiles and sprites) highly desirable.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer and database knowledge
  • Prior ski resort or hospitality experience highly desirable.
  • Certificates, Licenses, and Registration:
  • Valid Class C Driver License with a driving record meeting the minimum standards required by Homewood's insurance carrier.
  • Knowledge of updated B77 ANSI codes.
