Loan Review Officer - Waterloo, Iowa Job at Lincoln Savings Bank
Responsible for providing an independent and objective assessment of nonhomogeneous credits; including an ongoing assessment of credit quality, credit administration and underwriting practices, and compliance with established loan policies and Federal and State banking rules, laws, and regulations. This position reports to the Senior Loan Review Officer.
Essential Functions:
Perform regular loan reviews based on approved scoping criteria. Credit reviews shall assess loan quality, file documentation, compliance with Policies, and validation of loan risk ratings.
Provide recommendations on risk rating changes, adverse loan classifications, and credit administration and underwriting practices.
Identifies problem loans and describe deficiencies.
Determines if proper approval procedures and loan authorities are adhered to.
Report on the adequacy and effectiveness of loan tracking systems.
Identify any suspicious or potential fraudulent lending activities.
Verifies completeness and accuracy of loan documentation, including a review of mortgages, appraisals, UCC filings, tax records, lien verifications, and all other credit file items to ensure collateral perfection and protection.
Performs and test debt service coverage and review uniform credit analysis on certain credits.
Assist with preparing Management, Risk Committee and Board reports regarding Credit Risk Review findings and recommendations.
Effectively present information and respond to questions from lenders, managers, directors, and regulatory officials.
Present the bank in a positive light in all professional duties.
Perform other duties and responsivities as assigned by management.
Necessary Skills and Attributes
Sound written and oral communication skills.
Detail oriented with good time management skills.
Required Qualifications:
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Sound credit analysis skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field.
1 - 3 years’ experience in credit review, commercial lending, credit administration, credit analysis or credit underwriting.
General knowledge of lending laws and regulations.
Sound working knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements.
Familiarity with SBA and other Government Guaranteed Loan programs.
