Position Summary

The Logistics Coordinator position is part of the exciting transportation division within Evans. This individual is responsible for customer service and communication of inbound and outbound customer shipments. Successful candidates are highly effective communicators, organized, and detail oriented. This position requires flexibility and problem-solving in cases where shipments are problematic or complex. The transportation division is an upbeat team of professionals who are passionate about giving a best-in-class transportation management solution to customers.


Job Description

  • Communicate critical load and delivery information to Evans’ customers.
  • Track and trace customers shipments.
  • Work with carriers and negotiate rates.
  • Create orders in Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Issue proposals to customers.
  • Other general tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Experience/Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is helpful.
  • Dispatch or brokerage knowledge a plus.
  • Good computer skills. Experienced in Excel, Outlook, and any transportation management software is a plus.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have good math skills & attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Must pass pre-employment screening (background check only)

Details & Location

  • Position located at the headquarters office at 18765 Seaway Drive, Melvindale, MI 48122
  • 10am to 630pm Monday thru Friday
    • Rotational weekend requirements. Saturday & Sunday on a rotating schedule. Shift 0500-1700
    • Overtime as needed.
  • Starting wage: $19
