Logistics Coordinator
The Logistics Coordinator facilitates the physical work in the warehouse while supporting the management and production teams, reporting to the Logistics Manager. The coordinator is responsible for receiving, recording, and routing shipping and tracking both inbound and outbound orders. A successful candidate must manage multiple tasks well, using excellent communication and organizational skills to prioritize these day-to-day activities.
Working Hours: 6:50 am-4:00 pm, 30 min unpaid lunch
Compensation: $20 – $24 per hour, plus an annual bonus
Task and Responsibilities
OUTBOUND (SHIPPING):
- Manage shipping quotations and re-quotes:
o Solicit and quote out Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) and Full-Truckload (FTL) shipments
o Solicit and quote out international exports and imports
- Verify and preempt accessorial risks/issues (e.g., lift gate, limited access, out-of-the-area, etc.)
- Manage all shipping paperwork – domestic and international:
o Inventory Pick Sheets, Bill of Ladings (BOL), Shipping Labels, and Packing Sheets
o Occasional: Certificates of Hygiene, Heat Treatment, Phytosanitary,
o Occasional: US Customs and other documents
- Maintain carrier relations
- Track, review, and reconcile carrier issues, charges, etc. – manage the carrier matrix and ensure quotes sync up with final charges
- Daily review of current/existing shipments and upcoming. Prioritize as needed
- Work with Warehouse Lead to ensure order accuracies
- Maintain daily status updates on current/existing shipments
- Deliver orders to warehouse personnel
- Direct Drivers to correct docks
INBOUND (RECEIVING):
- Manage inventory system with trailers waiting to be unloaded.
- Direct Drivers to correct docks
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
- Maintain proper communication
o Utilization of radios and phones
- Maintain accurate shipping and inventory reporting for management
- Customer-facing interaction – be presentable, relatable, and customer service oriented
- Client service issues in high-pressure/tense situations, i.e., mis-shipments, delayed shipments, damaged, etc.
- Other duties, as needed by Logistics Manager
Requirements
- High school diploma or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Ability to interpret and implement documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
- Ability to write and maintain accurate, timely reporting
- Attention to detail
- Bonus: Forklift Experience

Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and can be exposed to extreme heat and cold, including climates consistent with outside weather conditions.
