The Yard Foreman is a supervisory role so the right candidate should have managerial experience, strong leadership skills, and excellent communication skills in order to delegate daily tasks. The foreman will be responsible for 2-3 individuals that work in the yard. This position is very physical and involves manual labor, must be able to lift 50 +/- pounds safely.

All yard personnel are subject to and must pass drug and alcohol test prior to start date.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Building loads for customer orders and deliveries by hand and/or use of forklift
• Receiving and unloading lumber and building supplies from vendor trucks by hand and/or use of forklift or other heavy machinery, checking delivery slip for accuracy and completeness
• Assist customers in the yard by answering questions, loading their vehicles, and locating merchandise
• Working closely with dispatch and store manager to build orders with accuracy
• Maintaining the inventory appearance and overall upkeep of the lumberyard
• Supervising 2-3 yard workers and delegating duties
• Be an advocate for the yard personnel by reporting any and all safety issues or concerns to management in a timely manner

Construction experience and knowledge of lumber and building materials a plus but not required. Will train if necessary.

All yard personnel are highly visible roles within Timberline's yards, so the right candidate must be personable, friendly, and courteous at all times.
