  • Shift differential - All night shift employees receive a 10% shift differential. This equates to 10% of your hourly wage. For example - 12 hour night employees starting at $20.00/hour receive $2.00/hour differential for a starting rate of $22.00/hour.
  • Off Shift Vacation Incentive - Night shift employees at Tessy have the opportunity to gain up to an additional 32 hours of paid time off per calendar year. For every 60 hours worked, employee earns 1 hour of additional vacation time up to a total of 32 hours annually.

Status Hourly Non-Exempt Reports to: Labor Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Operator is responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the manufacturing and assembly of molded product and secondary operations. They must read, functionally understand, and apply work instructions to the job duties.
These include following and adhering to: safety, quality and production standards, oral direction, guidance and instructions.

Duties and Responsibilities: % Time Essential/
Non Essential

1. Assists with the operation of molding presses, production machinery, and/or 40 E equipment used in the manufacturing of plastic component parts.

2. Must perform manufacturing related tasks including but not limited to: manual 40 E handling of parts, visual inspections, loading parts, packaging parts, machine operation, trimming parts, gaging product, and/or assembly work.

3. Must keep worksites clean and orderly. All tools and equipment should be 5 N returned to their assigned places at the conclusion of each shift.

4. Other duties as assigned. For example: helping other employees get caught up and 15 N to help cover co-workers break times.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Requires at least 6 months verifiable and consecutive work experience. Recent attendance of (or graduation from) an educational institution may be substituted for work experience.
2. Ability to follow work instruction and respond to management direction.
3. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
4. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
5. Must apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
6. Ability to read hand held measuring tools, scales, and other devices.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED

Physical Demands:

▪ Have the ability to lift, lower and carry 11-25 lbs on a frequent basis (up to half of your day) and 26-50 lbs on an occasional basis (up to 1/3 of your day).

▪ Be able to seize, hold, pinch and grasp items typical of this job with good dexterity with both hands, such as tweezers, nippers and small cutting tools.

▪ Have good eye-hand coordination.

▪ Be able to crawl, crouch, stoop, kneel and bend forward/sideways without aids/assistive devices on an occasional (up to 1/3 of your day) to frequent basis (up to half of your day).

▪ Be able to push, pull and reach with light to moderate force on an occasional basis (up to 1/3 of your day).

▪ Have the ability to work in a standing position on a constant basis (more than 2/3 of your day). However, the duration may be up to the scheduled work hours. Sitting may be required on an occasional basis.

▪ Have specific vision abilities required by this job. They include color and shading discrimination, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Must possess sight and hearing senses or by the use of prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately.

▪ Be able to move body through different positions to allow safe maneuvering between boxes/bins/gaylords and tables to/from the machine.

▪ Be able to adhere to all safety procedures and practices.

▪ Be able to adhere to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) to efficiently complete assigned work while utilizing tools, computers, and safety devices.

Based on the weight and frequency of material handling and required non-handling activities, the typical day to day job demands of an Operator carry the physical demand rating classification of Medium. This rating is set forth by The United States Department of Labor. *Please Note: Physical demands vary by job title, plant location, and product design

Working Conditions:
