Location: Scottsboro, Alabama - 36 miles southeast of Huntsville AL, and 25 miles north of Lake Guntersville, AL.

Mission: Perform troubleshooting and repairs on plant equipment involving electrical and mechanical failures. This is an advanced multi-craft level position and will work under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. A successful maintenance technician must possess the ability to change, learn new skills and work in a team-based atmosphere.

Criteria: Industrial maintenance training or other similar experience. Possess the ability to read and troubleshoot from electrical drawings/prints; PLC troubleshooting, repair, or similar experience (Omron PLC preferred); vison system troubleshooting and repair, any industrial pneumatic, electrical, or automation experience is a plus. Service members separating from active duty with advanced electronics or nuclear training will be considered. Persons with an aptitude for learning new technology and the ability to work in a team-based environment are encouraged to apply.


Principle Activities:

  • Perform intermediate-level troubleshooting and repairs on plant equipment regarding mechanical and electrical failures.
  • Troubleshooting of sensors, proximity switches, and other sensing devices that cause machine failures/downtime.
  • Use PLCs for troubleshooting and repairs of equipment failures.
  • Install, troubleshoot, modify programs and conduct preventive maintenance on industrial robots, PLCs, and vision equipment.
  • Start machines to test operation following repairs, subject to inspection.
  • Maintain knowledge of all safety devices and procedures, including lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Repair and maintain machines and mechanical equipment with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Diagnose and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Performs functional modifications of equipment to improve productivity and lower costs.
  • Operate department forklifts and aerial lifts.
  • Use departmental equipment, such as drill press, saws, and grinders proficiently and professionally.
  • Assist the engineering department with implementing engineering changes to equipment and processes.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the maintenance supervisor and/or the facilities and engineering manager.
  • Overtime will be required depending on customer demands
  • Periodic travel may be required to help satellite facilities at the OEMs.
