Job Title: Maintenance and Landscape Technician

• Business Unit: Meteor Crater Enterprises
• Location: Meteor Crater Museum
• Department: Museum Division
• Reports to: Facilities Manager
• Direct Reports: None
• Accuracy in repairs, obtain competitive quotes when directed, preventative maintenance, and safe work practices

Role Overview & Purpose:

• Participates and contributes in the daily activities of the maintenance and landscaping staff. Coordinates with Facilities Manager and Vice President of Operations on all repair and maintenance issues and projects relating to Meteor Crater and RV Park grounds, vehicles and facilities. Follows all safety rules and regulations.

Expectations:

• Communicates daily with Facilities Manager, Vice President of Operations and Crater Site Manager to identify maintenance needs, ongoing projects and the status of each. Works with Facilities Manager and Site manager to accomplish maintenance goals.
• Helps establish essential plans, then implement, and communicate goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Organizes, coordinates, and performs facility maintenance and repairs in every area including light landscaping, plumbing, and electrical.
• Responsible for returning tools to tool crib and cleaning up work areas.
• Be neat and conscientious with work habits and exhibit a professional presence.

• Maintains knowledge to assist in operation and maintenance of sewer plant, water and well systems.
• Willing to improve maintenance skills by the acceptance of coaching, training, time management, monitoring, and the appraisal of job tasks.
• Contributes to the team effort.
• Manage your time and pay attention to detail. Know your job and should be able to work without close supervision.
• Display a positive attitude, even under pressure.
• Be flexible with schedules and be available for unexpected coverage needs.
• Knowledge of English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, practices and equipment used in building maintenance and general construction activities.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices used in skilled trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Knowledge in occupational hazards, safe working practices, and safety precautions in accordance with applicable state, county, or federal laws and regulations regarding workplace safety.
• Ability to make solid decisions and exercise independent judgment.
• Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word and Excel, and work order tracking systems.
• Skill in managing multiple projects and meeting strict deadlines.
• Skill in analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions, and implementing recommendations.
• Always present a positive, engaging, upbeat attitude.
• Must have a valid drivers license
