SunGold Foods Inc., a division of Red River Commodities, creates roasted ingredients and food products to meet our customers specific formulations and provide them with custom packaging solutions. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for our production location in Lubbock, TX.

Summary:
The Maintenance Technician position will be responsible for monitoring plant operations as well as perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, respond to calls for service to any line in a timely manner, independently troubleshoots equipment that needs repair or that is operating at a substandard level as well as make repairs and adjustments in a timely fashion to ensure as little downtime as possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
May include the following however duties may be assigned

• Assists in monitoring and maintaining plant operations, including production and packaging equipment.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyor systems and production machines; troubleshoot malfunctions
• Independently troubleshoots equipment that needs repair or that is operating at a substandard level
• Setup and tear down equipment; may assist with major repairs, construction, fabrication, and installation of new plant equipment
• Makes repairs and adjustments in a timely fashion to ensure as little downtime as possible
• Monitor all safety devices and guards for correct position and operation.
• Understand the safe use of each piece of equipment utilized on the production lines.
• Follow all safety rules and monitors employee safety practices. Monitors work area for unsafe conditions.
• Comply with applicable good manufacturing (GMP), safety, and quality assurance practices.
• Read, understand, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) while conforming to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
• Wear appropriate clothing provided including smock, hairnet, beard net, gloves, protective eyewear, face shield, half face respirator.

Job Qualifications

• 3 Years Industrial, Agricultural or Production/Food Processing mechanical experience recommended or experience in performing maintenance on food production equipment or on manufacturing equipment. Vocational/Technical training preferred
• 1-year Electrical experience and/or welding experience preferred
• Ability to operate a forklift and skid steer
• Minimum of 1 year of Mechanical, Fabricating or Welding skills as needed to repair equipment
• Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of variables where limited standardization exists
• Flexibility regarding shifts and overtime when necessary
• Must be able to pass a urine drug test.
