We are looking for a competent Maintenance Director to manage maintenance at our two resorts just minutes apart from each other. Together the two resorts have a total of 74 rooms.

You will be responsible hiring and training staff and ensuring the smooth running of upkeep or repair operations. An excellent Maintenance Director must be reliable and have a great eye for detail. They must have technical skills and knowledge of various crafts such as carpentry, plumbing etc. The goal is to ensure that facilities are in a good and safe condition at all times.

The right candidate will plan, schedule and oversee preventative maintenance around the whole property, whether it's inside the rooms or in the outside areas that need maintenance and attention. Our goal is to be proactive and avoid issues for our guests as much as possible by preventing them.

You will be in charge of assessing problems and guiding your technicians to fix them. You are expected to think outside the box and come up with solutions, understanding the urgency in certain situations.

If necessary the Maintenance Director will call the appropriate vendors and schedule services and follow up.

The Maintenance Director is also responsible for keeping stock of necessary items and purchase whenever needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance
• Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work
• Hire and supervise tradesmen during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.)
• Inspect and maintain building systems (heating, ventilation etc.)
• Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance
• Monitor inventory of materials and equipment
• Participate in coordinaton of projects (e.g. renovations)
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations

Skills

• Proven experience as maintenance manager or similar role
• Technical knowledge
• Excellent planning and leadership abilities
• An eye for detail
• Computer savvy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
