Overview:
The MRO Materials Planner is a critical role for the Operational facility organization that leads analysis of MRO usage and master data parameters to ensure inventory levels meet appropriate stock requirements to meet business needs while complying with Client Standard practices. This role provides analysis of the cost of maintaining inventories vs. the cost of additional downtime so that proper stocking levels and vendor delivery commitments are achieved.

The MRO Materials Planner influences MRO inventory stocking levels and facilitates material availability which reduces the Maintenance organization’s Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and facilitates UPtime/OEE. This role also facilitates material expediting to minimize Production downtime.

Major Objectives of the Role
  • Ensure materials are available to meet Manufacturing Facility timing expectation
    • Provide options to increase probability of material availability to meet Manufacturing Facility timing expectation (alternate supplier, expediting, right-sizing inventory, etc.)
    • Review of potential missed delivery issues for future commitments and develop options to mitigate/resolve material delays (includes MRP issues - Sourcing requisitions)
  • Owner of the MRO inventory analysis process and proposes inventory strategy to the Manufacturing Facility for approval
    • Lead analysis of Inventory Strategy for MRO material (Stock/Non-stock, Consignment, Safety Stock, Refurbished, etc.)
    • Lead cyclic analysis of MRO Inventory Management process
  • Manage the Quality Management process
    • Master Data (Material Master, Quality Info Record)
    • Ensure Receiving Inspection process is working (training up-to-date, integrated suppliers, site resources, etc.)
    • Audit execution of inspections and documentation
  • Support the Site Material Non-Conformance process by communicating/managing non-conformance delivery and material quality issues to prevent reoccurrence
  • Owner of storeroom metrics and build reports for KPIs and communicate to site Manufacturing Facility personnel

  • Knowledge of and experience with Site safety policies, procedures, and training as required

  • Knowledge of and experience with the Client Maintenance Work Management Process (WMP) as it pertains to their role
  • Understand and apply site storeroom policies, procedures, and training as required
  • Knowledge of and experience with software tools as appropriate.
    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, SharePoint, Access)
    • Struxure (Client) -
    • Non-Conformance Database R Ability to perform statistical analysis as applied to Inventory History and Management
  • Understanding of the end-to-end MRO Material process
  • Knowledge of Materials Management guidelines associated with the Work Management Process principles
  • Understanding of SAP material master data field requirements and the impact on the MRO Process
  • Understanding of the interaction of SAP-PM with RTP, FIN, WM, PS SAP modules
  • Understands Quality Management process in SAP and how it applies within the site process
  • Knowledge of the SAP Material Requirement Planner (MRP) Tool function for inventory replenishment
  • Knowledge of the Accounting Policy Manual for inventory management
