**Position Overview:
The Maintenance & Safety Coordinator is responsible for tracking company tractors or trailers to ensure accurate status and location in transportation management system. Ensuring equipment is complaint and current on all DOT required maintenance. Providing general dispatch support.
**Essential Job functions:

• Performing daily yard check
• Tracking securement devices
• Maintain accurate equipment location status in transportation management system
• Track days sitting of equipment at customer locations
• Schedule required maintenance of equipment
• Audit vendor invoices
• Track trailer pools ensuring trailers are being used by their corresponding lane
• Provide general support to dispatch operations
• Verify that drivers know their schedules and adhere to them.
• Contact drivers for load status and ETA’s, make all necessary check calls to shippers and consignees.
• Ordering fluids for equipment
• Updates all Check Calls on Drivers in transportation management system
• Emergency availability and coverage availability
• Notify customers of any activity concerning their shipment; provide information to customer enabling them to trace shipments as required.

Requirements:

• Education – High School education required.
• Experience – Six (6) to twelve (12) months experience in a similar position beneficial.
• Training – Annual conference and/or seminar in transportation or related field is recommended.
• Travel – No travel is required for this position
• Testing – Must be able to pass pre-employment testing.
• Lifting- 50lbs
• Opening and closing trailer doors
• Lifting securement devices, fluids, etc...

Other Skills and Abilities

• General office and computer experience is necessary.
• Effective communication skills

Details & Location

• Position located at the headquarters office at 18765 Seaway Drive, Melvindale, MI 48122
• 8am – 430pm Monday thru Friday plus flexible to work Weekend rotation 5am to 5pm
• Starting wage: $19.00/hour
