Maintenance Technician Job at Icon Protection
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Primarily responsible for proactively ensuring all manufacturing, converting and lift truck equipment is maintained to operate safely and at maximum efficiency. Additionally, this role is active in the operational maintenance of the building and grounds of the facility by planning, scheduling, overseeing outside vendors, and performing routine and assigned tasks including but not limited to preventative maintenance and repair work of the building and its systems. The Maintenance
Technician (electro-mechanical) works closely with other departments to identify and schedule work. The ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks and requests and meet deadlines in a professional manner is required.

CORE & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Contribute to the outstanding reputation of the company by always putting the customer first, treating fellow associates with respect, and conducting business with highest integrity.
- Approach every task with safety as a priority including following all lock-out and safety protocols.
- Conduct regularly scheduled safety inspections. Test the functionality and troubleshoot various equipment and safety systems as needed.
- Ensure the safe and effective operation of all equipment. Plan for and take immediate corrective action to resolve any machinery/equipment problems. Monitor necessary corrections to completion to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Create and conduct preventative maintenance schedules and tasks for all plant equipment.
- Physically fix and maintain mechanical equipment, machines and minor facility issues. Tasks may include electrical work, plumbing work, painting, flooring repair and general upkeep.
- Assist in quality control by confirming run length on converting machines and film machines, and in other ways as needed.
- Coordinate maintenance and grounds activities with other departmental supervisors and contractors.
- Complete regular facility maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, salting entryways and sidewalks, etc.
- Report to the manager regarding progress on issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress daily.
- Assist with any maintenance and cleaning as needed.
- Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
A high level of safety related knowledge and excellent safety record is required. Strong hands-on experience in maintaining electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems needed. Minimum 5 years in a similar role and experience in trouble shooting of various systems is preferred. Ability to manage time and organization of multiple priorities and projects is essential. Must be able to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos and effectively present information to other employees of the organization. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and solve problems involving multiple variables and different levels of complexity. Computer proficiency in company required software and Microsoft Office (outlook, word, excel) is preferred. High School diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
