About You
We are looking for a skilled Industrial maintenance technician to oversee the installation and maintenance of our industrial equipment. As an industrial maintenance technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment. This will include installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.
To ensure success as an industrial maintenance technician, you should have advanced mechanical knowledge of industrial machinery, excellent troubleshooting skills, PLC ladder logic experience, and good time-management skills.

ABOUT US
Navy Island is a family run manufacturer of acoustic and architectural wood components for architectural woodworkers, cabinetmakers, door and hardware distributers, and store fixtures. Over the course of 30+ years in the industry, the company has grown to a three-building campus with approximately 140,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing floor space in West Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Industrial Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns.
- Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment.
- Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
- Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.
- Installing new production equipment.
- Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
- Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks.
- Communicating with the production team and maintaining a clean work area.
- Preparing and submitting maintenance reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years manufacturing/operations maintenance experience in an industrial maintenance role. Military and/or formal education will be considered. Military veterans strongly encouraged to apply.
- Able to differentiate between mechanical, electrical, and control issues while troubleshooting machinery.
- Able to interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to troubleshoot systems.
- Able to diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Able to diagnose a failed motor-control circuit including identifying arc-flash hazards, fuse identification/replacement, as well as overload and motor starter issues.
- Experience with VFD, PLC, and electrical controls as it pertains to troubleshooting.
- Basic understanding of pc use as it applies to tracking work orders.
- Basic MIG welding experience.

- Fanuc robot troubleshooting and operating knowledge a plus

JOB TYPE
Full-time. Monday - Friday, 8 hour day shift, schedule TBD on hire.
WORK LOCATION
One location, often moving between adjacent buildings in the same location.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to handle exposure to all temperature changes, dusty atmosphere, high noise levels, and safely working around moving equipment. Majority of work to be performed in-doors. Occasional lifting up to 50lbs.
PAY
$28 - $32/hour, depending on experience.

Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
