Firefly Children & Family Alliance is looking for a Major Gifts Officer

In this position you will report to the Chief Development Officer and work with the development team to establish a major gifts program for an organization with tremendous potential and unlimited opportunities. Major gifts raised will be used to carry out the agency's annual operation and special new initiatives. You will define a cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategy and work collaboratively with Firefly Children & Family Alliance board members and staff leaders to coordinate and execute long-term fundraising initiatives and campaigns.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute the major gifts program along with the Chief Development Officer
• Define program with your own donor/prospect cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for major gift donors
• Nurture relationships with Firefly Children & Family Alliance staff leaders and Board of Directors for drafting major gift proposals
• Research major gift donor prospects
• Work collaboratively with the board and staff

Metrics to be used to evaluate success:

• Portfolio size
• Number of donors/prospects along the major gift continuum: identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship
• Donor retention
• Meaningful face-to-face visits and other donor/prospect touchpoints
• Dollar amount raised

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 7 years of fundraising experience, including at least 3 years' experience securing gifts of at least $10K from individuals, foundations and corporate prospects
• 3 years' experience writing major gift proposals
• Collaboration while aligning prospects' personal philanthropic goals with Firefly Children & Family Alliance's vision, mission, values and programs
• Understanding of the social service system
