Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

Years of job-related experience: Minimum of 6 months previous janitorial or grounds work experience preferred.

Degree required and area of study: A high school education or General Education Degree (GED) is not required. Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Professional, positive, and energetic demeanor resulting from previous maintenance, landscaping, or janitorial experience.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of repair of apartments, buildings and other structures.
  • Good communication skills in English or Spanish.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Effective team player and interacts well with others.
  • High degree of neatness and respect for the property and landscape combined with a willingness to learn basic maintenance operations.
  • Understand cleaning solution labels and use as instructed.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Write simple correspondence.
  • Add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Perform these computations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow directions from a supervisor.
  • Understand and follow posted work rules and procedures.
  • Accept constructive criticism.

Certifications/Specialized Training:

  • Valid drivers license and proof of insurance required.

Work Environment:
