The Manager Foundation & Engagement Events reports to Director of Foundation & Events, assists in furthering both the Langley and the Langley for Families brand in the Hampton Roads community as an institution known for being focused on community giving. Plans and executes all signature fundraising, employee engagement, volunteer, and foundation sponsored events throughout the course of the year. Produces high quality, inspiring and memorable events while operating in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment. Provides guidance and support for volunteers, staff, and key community partners in the execution of events, activities, and organizational functions. Acknowledges the importance of corporate social responsibility, the impact of the Foundation to Langley, and is committed to the ongoing success of the foundation.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the planning and leads the coordination and execution of all Langley for Families fundraising events including the annual Golf Classic in May and an inaugural fall fundraiser and is accountable for their successful occurrence.
  • Plans and coordinates all Employee Engagement and Volunteer Events including the annual Day of Service in January, the annual Employee Appreciation event in March, as well as the annual LangleyU Summit.
  • Staffs and coordinates activities for all Foundation sponsored events.
  • Coordinates, oversees, and executes logistics for all phases of event implementation including pre-event, event day, and post-event timelines and schedules.
  • Develops a marketing strategy and communication plan for each event including copy for all communications, sponsorship packages, event promotion including press and public media.
  • Manages all vendors and oversees contracts, obtains permits as needed and organizes audiovisual equipment, event management software, and any other applicable technology. Coordinates all components of virtual or hybrid event as needed.
  • Monitors expenses and adheres to established budget. Tracks revenue and donations and coordinates payments.
  • Ensures all post-event activities are planned for and executed - such as debriefing sessions, sending surveys/evaluations, thank you letters, writing press releases, etc.
  • Analyzes event success - utilizes evaluation metrics and feedback to determine how future events could be improved upon.
  • Works with Director of Foundation and Langley Senior Management as needed to track contractual commitments to the Foundation.
  • Represents Langley Federal Credit Union and acts as an ambassador for Foundation initiatives.
  • Serves as staff liaison to the Langley for Families Foundation Board and the Charitable Giving Committee of Langley FCU as needed.
  • Provides information, knowledge, and reports to Foundation Leadership in order to support planning and strategic development.
  • Monitors the availability and supply of printed materials, giveaways, and other supplies used for community engagement, fundraising, outreach efforts, and other foundation sponsored events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business or a related area or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in annual and event fundraising in a corporate or nonprofit organization required.
  • Two or more years of experience hosting virtual and hybrid events required.
  • Proven success managing and executing events including logistics and visionary ideas/concepts on a large scale required.
  • Experience with developing and managing event budgets for large- and small-scale events in excess of $500,000.
  • Experience with vendor management with the ability to assess quality and performance required.
  • Experience with volunteer management with the ability to lead and direct staff, volunteers, and vendors in execution of large-scale events required.
  • Certified Special Events Planner (CSEP), Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) or other related certification preferred.
  • Marketing, fundraising, public relations, campaign experience preferred.
