JOB TITLE: Manager, Group Sales

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Manager of Group Sales is responsible for all facets of training and daily management of the Group Sales representatives, which includes generating and maximizing revenue with a focus on Group Ticket Plans.
This position will be required to hire, train, mentor and develop a team of Group Sales focused representatives while creating and implanting group sales initiatives to reach sales goals. This person will also be required to research new sales opportunities, as well as work with the Senior Manager of Ticket Sales to plan, organize and implement group sales strategies throughout the season.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Lead and manage the group sales team to reach and exceed daily, weekly, monthly and overall ticket sales and revenue goals.
  • Manage, mentor, coach and train group focused sales executives to hone their skills and tactics to sell effectively and efficiently sell group tickets.
  • Motivate and inspire the group sales team to achieve individual and team goals.
  • Oversee group sales representatives and ensure that reps are on track to hit individual match and season long goals.
  • Pull daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports to ensure the staff is achieving expectations and implementing plans of action for those in need.
  • Oversee and drive volume of outbound phone calls, face to face appointments and reporting of sales results for the group sales team.
  • Hold weekly 1 on 1 meetings with group sales focused executives to ensure they are on pace according to their plan and to ensure growth and constant feedback for the staff.
  • Create group sales initiatives and contests for the sales staff to drive sales performance during key points throughout the year.
  • Develop a consistent ticket sales training plan and maintains a pipeline to recruit sales talent when necessary.
  • Join business development executives on sales calls and appointments to instruct on and assist with the sales process where applicable.
  • Serve as a key part of the ticketing leadership team.
  • Assist in the management of game day responsibilities of the sales department.
  • Foster a relationship with local organizations to develop new group sales opportunities.
  • Assist in design of group sales collateral and flyers.
  • Research and determine beneficial events for group sales executives to attend in order to generate new sales opportunities.
  • Work with Business Intelligence department to manage customer database (CRM) in order to generate ticket leads.
  • Meet or exceed group sales goals assigned by the Vice President of Ticket Sales & Service and Director of Ticket Sales.
  • Other duties as determined by the Ticketing Leadership team.

WHO YOU ARE:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3-5 years of ticket sales experience (sports industry preferred).
  • Preferably 1-year leadership experience.
  • Proven record of achieving goals working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and instincts.
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted standards of customer service and problem resolution.
  • Strong computer skills, organizational skills, and detail oriented.
  • Creative, enthusiastic, excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail oriented, organized, and a proven ability to follow through on all tasks.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Applicant must be able to comply with MLS Next Safety and Well-Being policy and any other applicable child safety policies provided to applicants by NYCFC
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary
  • New York City Football Club requires a COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment, subject to exception under applicable law
COMPENSATION:
This exempt position has an estimated annual base salary range of $55,000 to $65,000. Final compensation offer amounts are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors such as certifications and software expertise.
