Location:
Sibelco North America is looking for a dynamic Innovation Manager in Mineral Processing to be located in Spruce Pine (School House), NC who will contribute to the research and development of new or improved mineral processes, with a focus on manufacturing High-Purity Quartz and other regional industrial mineral opportunities. The objective of an Innovation Manager in Mineral Processing job is to manage the research, develop and improve industrial processes to maximize efficiency for both new plants (greenfield) and existing plants (brownfield).
Major Responsibilities:

Manage Mineral Processing Research activities for High Purity Quartz and other regional industrial mineral opportunities.

Lead research process design for existing and new mineral processes technologies taking into account all fields of extractive metallurgy.

Make decisions for process design based on mineral recoveries and mineral technologies.

Liaise closely with all internal departments and external laboratories to ensure projects (whether pilot testing or other industrial tests) are being developed in accordance with the scope, timeline, and budget.

Manage the simulation and calculation (mass balances) of new and existing processes, as well as perform process audits.

Lead identification of opportunities and problem areas for targeted improvements by creating, reviewing, and monitoring data that show performance to KPI’s (specifically, safety, quality, yield, and waste).

Design the concept flow sheet for new and optimized processes. This includes testing and selection of critical equipment for the process.

Ability to attract, develop and motivate people as you will be leading a team dedicated to mineral processing research.

Lead modeling, drawings, layout, P&ID composition, process controls, etc.
Minimum Requirements:

Having a minimum of a Master’s Degree or Equivalent with a study background in Mineral Processes.

Team leadership experience

Demonstrate both technical and management skills.

Have excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
