Responsibilities:
Southern Regional Medical Center is seeking a Manager of Medical Staff to join our team. This position will provide management support and coordination for all medical staff, medical education and continuing education services. The Manager of Medical Staff will also:
- Maintain productive, professional relationships with all levels of staff.
- Serve as a liaison between physicians and staff.
- Maintain knowledge of the medical staff and medical education standards as related to deemed agencies, state law, and other regulations to assure compliance.
- Responsible for maintaining medical staff credentialing and privileging process.
- Ensure proper management of medical staff management and applications.
- Develops departmental plans and budgets.
- Familiar with the National Association of Medical Staff Resources
- Motivates staff to strive for professional excellence.
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent education/experience.
- Certification from the National Association of Medical Staff Services as Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM), required.
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS), or equivalent, preferred.
- Management experience in one of the following venues: hospitals, managed care, credentialing verification organizations, or ambulatory care.
- Experience in working with governance processes is essential.
- Must have strong computer, communication and writing skills with knowledge of medical terminology.
