Job Summary
The associate at this level is expected, with direct supervision, to contribute to the achievement of manufacturing and quality objectives by providing support to the manufacturing operations. The associate develops and implements process improvements and resolves process issues through analysis.

Essential Job Functions *
1.Develops, documents and revises manufacturing work instructions, assembly fixtures, and safety improvements to new and existing equipment.
2.Develops and designs various tools and dies necessary for production.
3.Develops machine improvements to reduce downtime and improve throughput.
4.Gathers and analyzes data to implement process improvements.
5.Investigates production problems and initiates corrective actions as necessary.
6.Evaluates non-conforming components and determines appropriate corrective actions.
7.Assists in the training of production associates.
8.Implements cost reductions through the selection of materials, equipment upgrades and process changes.
9.Assists in new product design and new product introduction.

Education & Experience
BS/BA in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering and 0-2 years’ experience in a related field.

Competencies – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Basic Skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of 3D modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate process improvements and new process introductions in a multifunctional team
  • Ability to develop assembly lines from concept to realization in order to meet project goals and schedules
  • Strong mechanical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong ability to create cost analysis
  • Knowledge of tooling and machine design
  • Thorough knowledge of materials
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Ability to develop efficient processes using continuous improvement concepts and tools
Work Environment:
Office Setting - Seldom exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Loud working environment of the shop area. Functional vision and hearing required.
