Savings Bank of Mendocino County has proudly been serving the needs of our communities since 1903 and is seeking a qualified professional for the role of Marketing and Community Outreach Specialist in the Marketing Department. This position involves working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the Marketing Team to implement the Marketing Plan through advertising, brand awareness, public relations, customer service, community outreach, special events, and general clerical tasks.

The ideal candidate for this hands-on position is a motivated team player with two years of experience and/or training in banking, marketing, public relations, community outreach or a similar position. A successful person in this role is organized, self-motivated, creative, has strong interpersonal and time management skills, and is comfortable interacting with a broad range of individuals internally and in the community. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In collaboration with the Marketing Team, support planning and execution of all marketing and community outreach efforts including special promotions and events.
  • Assist with development, creation and distribution of internal and external marketing, advertising and communication material consistent with established standards and compliance regulations. i.e. Employee newsletter, brochures, ads, etc.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the Bank’s social media strategy and monitor online comments and reviews.
  • Record employee service hours as well as sponsorships and donations made by the Bank for CRA reporting.
  • Manage the Bank’s promotional / giveaway merchandise inventory as well as the logo apparel catalog content, ordering and distribution.
  • Perform multiple clerical duties in all aspects of the Marketing Department.
  • Support the other employees in the Marketing Department by providing backup to the essential functions of their positions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Two years of experience and/or training in banking, marketing, public relations, community outreach or similar position or Associate’s degree in marketing
  • Previous experience using Windows-based computers
  • Ability to occasionally participate in evening and weekend community outreach events

  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the position

Some driving may be required.

Employee must possess the ability to read, write, perform basic math functions, understand basic communication and instructions, carry out instructions, complete basic problem-solving and analyzing of information, and make independent decisions within scope of responsibility.
