The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) on the campus of Sac State is looking to hire a part time, non-student, Marketing & Communications Assistant .

Conditions of Employment

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.

Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted: employment history, professional references, criminal check, educational verification (degree, license, or official transcript), or driver clearance. Applicants will be required to pass required pre-employment checks to the satisfaction of University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) and the hiring Agency or Department.

UEI does not allow employees to hold more than one UEI Job at a time, or work in more than one college or center per pay period. UEI employees who are considering leaving their current UEI Student assistant position for a different UEI student assistant positing should inform their supervisor in writing and provide at least a week’s notice

Shifts are available Monday-Saturday. Schedule varies.


Additional Work Schedule

Part-time, casual employees generally are limited to 19.5 hours per workweek (Sunday – Saturday).


Minimum Qualifications

  • Verbal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work well with others in a professional office environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must have an understanding of different social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
  • Must have strong organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Must be available to work a minimum of four-hour blocks (e.g.: 8am –12pm or 1pm – 5pm).
  • Must be available to (but not limited to) evenings and some weekends.
  • Must be creative, independent, and a self-starter.
  • Must be able to function with accuracy during peak times
  • Must be adaptive to a variety of situations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in one or all of the following Adobe Creative Cloud (CC)software: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the program’s social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other relevant platforms.

  • Creates dynamic written, graphic, and/or video content for social media communications promotes audience interaction, increases audience presence, and encourages audience participation.

  • Assist with designing of marketing materials including performance reports, quarterly newsletters, website design, graphic design for logos, conference and event themes, multimedia publications, etc.

  • Capture departmental campus events and photographs of individuals on location.

  • Edits and shares photo collections with team members and the public in a timely manner.

  • Produce educational filmmaking projects that use visuals, and/or multimedia storytelling to support the program’s work including promotional and student documentaries.

  • Serves as technical support (desktop and laptop) during presentations, training, and meetings.


Physical Requirements

Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without a reasonable accommodation.
