Marketing Copywriter / Word-Nerd Job at Sedo.com LLC

Sedo.com LLC Boston, MA

About Sedo:

We are: THE experts who have been around since the first hours of the domain industry. We have more than 20 years of experience in e-commerce and we work in interdisciplinary teams every day to create the best possible user experience for more than 2 million customers worldwide. Our common goal? Success that is sustainable! The United Internet AG group provides support in the background to achieve this goal.

Since you made it past our standard company introduction and are still reading, we’re under the heavy impression that you might be interested in joining us.

<insert your favorite “OMG! That is exciting”-GIF here>

We don’t care if you’re just starting out in marketing, already mid-level or returning from your sabbatical in the Himalayas where you tried to crossbreed Pandas and Alpacas to Pandapacas - the most adorable thing in the wool wide world! What we do care about is you, your personality and your professional skill set.

Your tasks:

Newsletters, event brochures, landing pages, print ads, digital banners, social posts — you probably will write it all. Maybe even job offers like this one. The key for us is that your copy grabs attention like a driver going the wrong way and your headlines hit like a truck. Be prepared that our awesome sales team will be banging down your door to collaborate and brainstorm new ways to keep our clients happy and faithful. Please support them as best you can while keeping your professional dignity. Last, but no less important, we want you to kickstart and develop our internal communications. It’s an international project that needs your authenticity, a lot of heart and a bit of fighting spirit.

Your profile:

You’re a free-spirited individual who gets a bit nerdy when it comes to writing. Former colleagues would describe you as “a well-liked professional and a bit of a pain” because you kept proofing and optimizing every piece of media you came across. But that's how you roll. You like to dabble in new media technologies and keep yourself up-to-date on the latest internet craze. Checking your Google search history would give us enough material to foster either an internationally recognized study on the online-native psyche or a yearlong programming plan for The View. We also need you to be able to hob nob with world leaders - not that we know many, do you? - but our team is a motley collection of talented people from many different countries. A lot of our marketing efforts are steered from our headquarters in Cologne, Germany. But don’t fret, no german language skills are required. Good Arnold impressions are a plus though.

We offer:

The look and feel of freelance life with the stability of working for a rock-solid company. Whether you prefer a coffee shop, your dining room table, or sitting in a park with a hotspot, work wherever you feel productive. You’ll have more access to happy hours and team celebrations if you’re in the Boston area but the work can really be done from anywhere in the US. You’re also in control of your schedule. If you are more creative at 8pm than 8am (or is it really that the yoga class starts at 2pm?) you should take advantage of that. Your deliverables won’t get reviewed until the middle of your night anyway so you just need to leave some time in the mornings to coordinate with the team in Germany. At the same time, you’ll have the job security of working for a company that has been around for 20+ years in an industry that is only becoming more relevant as every company moves online. And of course, the classic benefits of health and dental insurance, retirement matching, and ample vacation and sick time.
