POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing Manager is responsible for the following job results:

Grow winter and summer Resort visitation and revenue by championing and leveraging the Snowshoe brand through web site, CRM, social media, and other marketing channels. Lead the marketing team and oversee strategies associated with internal and external marketing efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager achieves these results by planning, directing and coordinating the activities of designated marketing projects to ensure that goals or objectives of each project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Manages all facets of internal marketing including planning, strategizing, executing and analyzing web sites, CRM, and social media. Hires, motivates, evaluates and directs staff to ensure adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established goals and objectives. Ensures that all employees receive the training, support, guidance, feedback and resources necessary.

The Marketing Manager will achieve these results through the following practices:

Lead and develop the Marketing Team

  • Hiring A Level talent within the marketing team.
  • Setting and evaluating project based and annual team member goals
  • Engaging in personal development process with team members to develop their skills and personal growth

Collaborate with the Marketing Director in the strategic planning process to be presented and reviewed by the VP of Marketing and Sales, Director of Finance, and Resort President.

  • Researching visit trends
  • Planning campaigns to enhance visitation based on season and segment
  • Compiling and organizing collateral information (i.e. copy, rates, departmental buy-in)
  • Coordinate and effectively practicing sound management techniques

Champion the Snowshoe Brand

  • Ensure brand standards are maintained across all internal and external marketing outlets.
  • Directing marketing team to achieve consistency in identity, visuals, messaging, tone and voice reflective of Snowshoe’s brand goals
  • Communicating to Snowshoe employees for common understanding of brand characteristics and guidelines
  • Work with Director of Marketing to manage all online and offline communication vehicles to “one voice” objectives, including ads, videos, digital media, collateral, signage, merchandising, uniforms
  • Policing brand usage by other Resort departments, third-party agencies and partners to specs provided in brand usage guidelines

Maximizes effectiveness of Snowshoe’s e-marketing resources

  • Manage the Snowshoe website to be current, easy-to-use, accurate, and effective for driving sales conversion as determined by relevant reporting metrics
  • Implementing SEO/SEM/PPC best practices
  • Guiding Snowshoe CRM initiatives: working with agency and distribution services to keep database current and up to date, scheduling the list and mailing with distribution services and mail houses
  • Identifying the targets for campaigns, Identifying and implement new data capturing techniques
  • Managing the resort’s reputation on social media & review sites
  • Managing the resorts database strategies
  • Updating content on sales promotions, event information and online community
  • Maintaining the resorts image integrity and position through the Internet
  • Developing partnerships to enhance the visitation to snowshoemtn.com

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Experience: 5+ years of experience in the Marketing field, with priority being given to experience in ski and/or resort marketing.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Position may require occasional overnight or day travel. Any employee or volunteer who operates a company vehicle including cars, trucks, snowcats, snowmobiles, or heavy equipment is required to comply with the Driver’s Standards Policy. This policy also applies to employees or volunteers driving their personal vehicles for company business more than four times per month, averaging 30+ miles per trip. All drivers should receive a full copy of the Intrawest Driver’s Standards Policy; if you have not – please contact your Risk/Safety or HR/EE Department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • Intermediate to advanced skiing or riding ability is preferred but not required.
