eHealth connects people with quality, affordable health insurance through a proprietary marketplace offering Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Medicare Part D prescription drug, individual, family, small business, and ancillary plans from 200 health insurance carriers nationwide. As part of eHealth’s transformation, we are seeking a Marketing Manager, Individual/Family/Small Business (IFP/SMB). This person will define and grow eHealth’s creative and content strategy, demand generation and retention through omni-channel campaigns (TV, OOO, Direct Mail, Print, Digital | Social, SEM) targeted at our individual, family and small business audiences. Reporting to the Director of IFP/SMB Consumer Marketing, this person will drive profitable business growth, increasing customer acquisition and engagement, and driving down customer acquisition cost (CAC), while building a distinct brand that provides unique consumer and stakeholder value. The Marketing Manager (IFP/SMB) will bring an analytical skill set with a focus on maximizing ROI, audience-obsession for finding the most motivating & relevant messaging, intellectual curiosity to challenge status quo with creative new ideas and modern marketing practices and a track record of delivering superior results. In addition, this person will collaboratively shape and advance the multi-channel consumer journey and have a passion for growing an exceptional team through recruiting, development, culture building and servant leadership.
The Marketing Manager (IFP/SMB) will oversee a paid media budget of approximately $4M targeted at our individual, family and small business audience and can be based anywhere in the US.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create an effective and ever-expanding lead generation capability to drive sales of IFP and SMB health plans through both the on-line ecommerce platform and the telesales organization.
  • Direct internal and external resources to drive profitable growth of performance marketing channels with accountability against quarterly volume targets, with strategies that optimize core channel growth while testing expansion into new channels.
  • Revamp our IFP/SMB direct to consumer and B2B media mix, looking for ways to expand profitably into additional channels.
  • Oversee development of an omnichannel audience strategy, leveraging research to create a deep understanding of the unique consumer needs of individuals, families and businesses and customer broker partners, as well as partner with data science for advanced targeting models.
  • Develop an updated creative platform and differentiated value propositions.
  • Partner with product to create an industry-leading, friction-less experience that drives improved conversion and engagement.
  • Partner with customer service and sales to glean insight on needs and pain points that could be addressed in marketing to enhance conversion and retention.
  • Partner with Business Development team to leverage marketing capabilities to drive pipeline of new partnerships and enhance current partnerships.
  • Create processes to ensure constant adherence to industry and regulatory standards.
  • Lead audience research and analysis to develop a pipeline of actionable insights and initiatives for marketing and product experience teams.
Ideal Experience:
  • Deep understanding of and proven track record of driving growth in a direct-to-consumer business, as well as understanding of B2B marketing strategies.
  • 4+ years of integrated consumer and brand marketing.
  • Demonstrated successful performance and results in the health care sector (Individual, Family and Small Business experience preferred).
  • Track record of efficiently deploying a performance marketing budget that continuously drives growth against ROI and LTV.
  • Demonstrated strength using analytics to drive business decisions.
  • Proven track record and accountability for achieving quarterly results.
  • Experience building successful, productive cross-functional relationships.
  • Experience and comfort working in an entrepreneurial environment, operating at a fast pace and fluid nature to adapt the changing needs of the consumer, the regulatory environment and the business.
