Full-time Or Part-time Mechanic position for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment.
Seeking experienced Mechanic to maintain and repair trucks ( pick-up to Tractor) and heavy equipment consisting of excavation equipment and drill rigs ( 5,000lbs to 32,000lbs). Soiltesting Inc. is a Geotechnical Drilling Contractor working thru out southern New England and New York since 1958. This is a 20 to 40 hr per week position but may require some OT. The more versatile the persons skills, the more opportunity for OT.
DUTIES AND RESPONDSIBILITIES:
Assess vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues
- Perform and record routine maintenance according to schedule
- Provide routine inspections of vehicles and equipment
- Keep an accurate log of all work performed
- keep work area clean and safe
- Adhere to company work safety policies
- welding ability
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience conducting routine heavy equipment and truck repair/maintenance
- Demonstrated experience inspecting heavy equipment and trucks
- Practical mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills
- Sound mechanical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Equipment includes:
drill rigs, backhoe, excavator, skid steer, geoprobe, trucks, trailers, small engines.
The ability to operate heavy equipment , a CDL ; IS A PLUS
