SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Policies and Procedures

  • Ensure that all vehicles and equipment meet safety and regulatory standards before they are utilized in the field.
  • Assist Fleet Manager in maintaining DOT compliance.

Production Management

  • Communicate daily with production managers and team members to understand current goals and objectives

Staff Management

  • Assist the management team in training and holding team members accountable for the use and care of their machines.

Quality

  • Work with the Fleet Manager and Operations Manager to ensure assets are cleaned, serviced, repaired, and put back into service within a reasonable timeframe that is agreed upon with the Fleet Manager.
  • Diagnose and repair Company assets including power equipment and small engine items (e.g., lawn mowers, power tools, snow blowers, 2 and 4 cycle equipment).
  • Perform preventative maintenance on Company assets (vehicles, equipment, and trailers) in accordance with the asset maintenance plan.
  • Provide emergency field assistance to disabled equipment when needed.

Safety

  • Document and inform management of signs of abuse or unsafe operations.
  • Assist in the safety and security arrangement at assigned facility.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of small engine and heavy equipment repair.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with electrical systems, specifically 12V systems, preferred.
  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to receive on the job training.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to provide and use personal tools and personal tool storage.
  • Ability to manage time appropriately to return priority assets to service in addition to daily tasks.
  • Extensive knowledge of grounds care, landscape, and snow and ice equipment.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability with respect to all equipment types used at the Company.
  • Ability to remain self-motivated and deliver work product that is detail oriented and reflects Company quality standards.
  • Valid and current driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Basic computer knowledge and experience.
  • Completes assigned work in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Demonstrates independent action and resourcefulness on the job. Performs duties in an acceptable manner and with minimal supervision.
  • Works well with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Consistently reports to work on time.
  • Ability to maintain personal appearance and grooming expectations, as detailed in the Employee Handbook and Professionalism Guidelines.
  • Adheres to Employer expectations regarding conduct as specified in the Employee Handbook and Professionalism Guidelines.

The mechanic position is responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance for Company assets. Working under the direction of the Fleet Manager, this individual will help to ensure that all Company assets are repaired and put back into service as quickly as possible. This individual must be a self-motivated worker who is detail oriented and quality driven in their work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
