Purpose of position:

Create and manage CAD models and drawings representing Miura’s industrial product designs. Utilize 2D and 3D CAD software plus advanced tools and features such as PDM, configurations, and rendering tools. Apply knowledge of machine design and manufacturing processes to ensure products are properly designed and suitable for manufacturing. Manage product documentation and bills of materials on drawings and within the ERP system. Participate in the formal engineering change order process to evaluate and implement design changes. Act as a representative of product designs providing support to other departments by interpreting designs, creating customer-specific drawings, resolving BOM issues, and similar. Advanced responsibilities may include supporting or managing CAD systems, supporting new product development, and creating design packages for custom designs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Use SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software to create and update models and drawings of Miura products including industrial boilers

2. Create and manage product documentation and bills of materials (BOMs) on drawings and within the ERP system

3. Participate in the engineering change order (ECO) process to evaluate requested design changes, modify designs, and implement changes with appropriate documentation and communication

4. Apply knowledge and experience to ensure products are properly designed and suitable for manufacturing

5. Support other departments and resolve issues as the key representative of Miura product designs

Position Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform satisfactorily in the position):

• Associate degree in drafting or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience with industrial products and manufacturing processes including welding, structural steel shapes, piping, sheet metal, and similar
• Expert skill with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar programs
• Ability to manage product BOMs
• Experience with SolidWorks PDM or similar vault system preferred
