Education

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • PE License Preferred

Experience

  • 5 to 10 Years of Experience, with a minimum of 2 Years in Consulting Engineering
  • Experience in Industrial Markets is required

Salary

Negotiable and commensurate with applicable experience.

Responsibilities

The applicant should be a self-starter who can assist a client in identifying, or further defining, a problem with a process or piece of equipment and conceptualize multiple solutions to then be presented for review. The applicant should then be able to put into the practices the desired solution through a concisely engineered project package. The applicant must be capable of applying diversified knowledge of design engineering principles and practices and independently make decisions on significant design problems or methods for industrial clients.

Successful applicant must be able to demonstrate experience and/or skills in the following areas:

  • Work within a project team as well as direct the work of others as necessary.
  • Working knowledge of utility piping, process piping, hydraulic systems, exhaust and ventilation systems, material handling and drive systems, and general mechanical design.
  • Assist in developing engineering scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Attend client meetings to clearly understand job/owner requirements and expectations (project review meetings, construction meetings and project closeout meetings).
  • Capability to take an active role in conducting site visits to establish existing conditions, perform measurements, and document accurate field conditions.
  • Ability to develop equipment layouts for various types of systems.
  • Development of construction document packages including drawings, scopes of work, and specifications. This will include project coordination with other disciplines, directing drafting personnel and checking project construction documents.
  • Monitor project progress for technical accuracy and adherence to schedule and budget
  • Plan, organize and supervise design activities on more than one on-going project at a time.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and engineering drawing rules & techniques is required. Working knowledge of Revit, Inventor, or AutoCAD 3D is a plus.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform own drafting when required to support completion of projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical writing.
