We're looking for a Medical Assistant who will help us provide exceptional care to our patients!

1. Performs a variety of patient care activities to assist Physicians, and Physicians' Assistants and Nurse Practitioners

2. Prepares exam rooms for patient visits and performs ancillary duties, which include but are not restricted to vitals, Snellen eye exams, urinalysis, capillary blood draws and sanitation, with appropriate documentation in the patient record.

3. Administers immunizations, therapeutic injections and educates parents with the aide of Vaccine Information Sheets (VIS).

4. Educates patients and their families as to the appropriate use of prescribed medication delivery systems, providing approved information for demonstrative purposes.

5. May Dispense medication only with express consent of a provider, be it either written or verbal.

6. Performs telephone triage, which may include contacting patients, obtaining pertinent clinical information, relaying approved information to patients, and phoning prescription orders.

7. Performs administrative duties, which may include processing mail, scheduling appointments, scheduling referral appointments, nebulizer purchase and patient chart maintenance.

Requirements
Qualified applicants should have Current MA certification and possess a working knowledge of both medical terminology and basic pharmacology. Candidates should be mature, responsible individuals who can demonstrate effective communication, in a team oriented environment.

Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Current Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution

Knowledge of Medical Terminology and basic Pharmacology

Schedule:

  • 40 hour work week.
  • Monday-Friday 9am-6pm, plus one Saturday per month 8am-noon
