Summary of Position: The Medical Biller will be responsible for various tasks requiring data analysis, attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and sound judgment. Some of your daily responsibilities will include eligibility checks, claim submission, posting payments, appealing denied claims, etc.

Experience: Three to five years of Medical Biller experience in an outpatient/ambulatory care setting is preferred.

• Ensure patient data is correct and comprehensive, as well as request any patient data that may be absent.
• Verify insurance coverage and patient benefits.
• Daily review of receivables and selection of relevant collection measures.
• Timely follow-up on insurance claim delays, exceptions, or exclusions, as well as reviewing referrals and authorizations.
• Respond to inquiries from clients, medical personnel, and insurance firms.
• Abide by all rules and restrictions.
• Create, administer, and keep track of a system for tracking incoming and late payments.
• Send out late payment notices to the appropriate parties.
• Respond to questions and complaints from patients, insurance companies, and clinical staff.
• Follow-up on late or missed payment notices.
• Monitor and resolve financial discrepancies.
• File and maintain organized documentation of all billing and record.
• Follow set billing processes and procedures.
• Update and review all accounts to keep records of payments up to date.

Additional Skills Suggested: Bilingual preferred but not required

Licensure: AAPC Certified Biller preferred
