MEDICAL OFFICE RECEPTIONIST/SCHEDULER
Pulmonary Medicine of Dayton, Inc. is an independent, physician-led practice, premier provider of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine services in the Dayton area for thirty years.

The Medical Receptionist/Scheduler, under the supervision of the Practice Manager, is responsible for assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Include, but not limited to: Excellent customer service skills by greeting our patient warmly and being professional. Telephone contact with patients to schedule their appointments and manage their coordination of their appointment with orders in the Epic system. Patient checking in and checking out.
Processing patient registration, checking completeness of paperwork, verifying demographics, obtaining insurance cards, and patient identifications. Scanning cards and documentation into EMR. Scheduling appointments, collections, and explaining financial options to patients. Telephone skills include the ability to communicate clearly, maintaining a friendly and helpful demeanor. Experience in Epic scheduling is a plus.
Additional Functions: Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent situations, maintain professional appearance and personal conduct adhering to employer safety practices.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to communicate and relate well with office staff, ancillary departments and public, follow direction, accept orders, and perform repetitive tasks, be patient, courteous, and tactful.
- Able to work under time constraints, multi-task, and work autonomously with little direction.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and follow directions.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-year experience in a medical/physician office setting preferred.
- Prior experience in patient registration/healthcare preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10 coding is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with use of electronic scheduling in EPIC is preferable.

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Medical office. Outpatient services. Well lighted, well ventilated, adequate space. Exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to clinic setting. Work may be stressful at times.
SCHEDULE: Full Time – Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm
