Our Family Practice Slingerlands is looking for a part-time Medical Scribe to join their office! Successful candidates will have previous medical experience and knowledge in medical terminology. The hours are: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 8:00AM to 4:30PM.

Responsibilities:
Obtain information directly from the practitioner;

Record details of the physical examination, including the patient's general condition, any noted abnormalities and pertinent positive and negative findings.

Assist in disposition of patient at the conclusion of the visit, including patient instructions, orders, prescriptions and patient clinical summary.

Perform clerical and information technology functions for a provider in our office setting.

Accurately and thoroughly document the medical visit and procedures as they are being performed by the provider.

Enter orders as directed by the physician and observe policies and procedures of the site with regard to follow-up of orders that have not been completed.

Successful candidate will also function as a Medical Assistant as needed.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent

Minimum of 1 years of experience as a Scribe or in the medical field and knowledge with Allscripts EMR or other electronic medical record system highly preferred.

Computer proficiency and ability to learn quickly.

Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, members, physicians/providers, managers, and co-workers.

Maintain strictest confidentiality and discretion.

Working knowledge of and fluency with medical terminology.

Must be organized, detail oriented and have strong multi-tasking skills.

Professional demeanor and understanding of privacy and confidentiality in the health care setting.

Skill in appropriate use of universal precautions and a safe workplace.

Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
