Candidates should possess a positive attitude and enjoy interacting with seniors and their families. They must be compassionate and also have a good attention for detail and be able to multitask while remaining focused.

Job Duties: Med Tech:

· Administer all medications ordered by a physician promptly and correctly.

· Keep notes in chart updated with significant changes or problems concerning every resident on your hall.

· Keep accurate written records of medications given on MAR’s, signing at the time the medication is given.

· Do a count of controlled medications at the beginning and the end of shift with the other medication aide coming on and going off.

· Complete & submit to supervisor any incident/accident reports that happen on your shift.

· Give insulin injections, check blood sugars, closely monitor insulin dependent diabetes.

· Administer treatments, and bandage changes as ordered by a physician and record promptly.

· Notify Supervisor of incidents, accidents, and/or doctor appointment results

· Prepare paperwork for transfer to the emergency room and doctor visits

· Check residents for concerns from the PCA’s and CNA’s such as skin tears, bruising, etc.

· Maintain med carts, charts, and the med room in a clean and orderly fashion

· Keep med room locked at all times, only allowing access to other med techs or supervisors

· Maintain a safe work environment and practice safe working habits

· Maintain residents’ privacy and confidentiality as outlined in HIPPA regulations

· Report any falls, skin tears or bruising of residents, or changes in their normal habits

· Report any misconduct or breach of procedures that you witness on the job

· Follow the rules and regulations as outlined by the State of North Carolina and the Cottages of Swansboro employee manual

· Report to supervisor any employee problems that you are not able to solve. Report to supervisor any employee problems that you are not able to solve.

· Perform all duties as outlined in the job description, as needed.

· Perform other duties, as requested, to ensure the smooth operation of The Cottages of Swansboro.

Pay: $11.22 - $11.50 per hour
