Automation Personnel Services is looking for dedicated Menders for a company based in Chatsworth, Ga. In this role, you will be responsible for performing an array of duties such as mending, examining, and reweaving as needed. This position is full-time temp to hire.

Pay Rate
$11.50 per hour

Schedule and Hours
1st Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. overtime required if needed Saturday and Sunday

2nd Shift: Monday through Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. overtime required if needed Saturday and Sunday

Mender Duties and Responsibilities

• Mends torn or defective portions of unfinished or finished carpets by handweaving:
• Examines carpet for tears or defects or markings that indicate imperfections.
• Reweaves thread or yarn to close holes or repair defects, using needle and thread or burling iron, and blends repair thread or yarn with existing pattern.
• Draws missing warp or filling threads through cloth and pulls out coarse and surplus threads, using burling iron, tweezers, and needle and thread.
• Pulls loosely woven threads through back of cloth to reduce slack, using tweezers. May also trim yarn from defect, using scissors.

Mender Qualifications and Requirements

• 1–2-year mending experience required
• Need to be able to read English
• Drug-screens and background checks are required
• Lifting assessment required
