JOB TITLE: : Mental Health Clinician (Per Diem)

PROGRAM: Outpatient Counseling -- Mental Health Services

LOCATION: West Caldwell and Irvington outpatient offices with Telehealth capabilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or directly related field with 1 to 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Must be licensed as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, provides, oversees, and/or administers biopsychosocial assessments, weekly individual, family or couple's therapy, counseling therapy, crisis intervention, and/or case management services in a high-intensity clinical environment, which requires a high degree of independent decision-making and program administration. The Bridge is a nonprofit community-based organization that provides behavioral health care services designed to strengthen and support the family and to promote the personal growth of children, adolescents, adults, and families. Founded in 1971, we have a long-term commitment to helping children and families in the Caldwell’s, Irvington and greater Essex and Union counties to overcome mental health and substance use disorder challenges that threaten to derail lives and tear families apart. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to clients and families as appropriate to the position; prepares treatment plans, discharge plans, provides therapeutic crisis intervention as required. Determines appropriate treatment modalities for clients.

Consults with other therapists and related professional and paraprofessional staff, as appropriate, in the performance of therapeutic and/or casework; refers clients to appropriate service agencies as required.

Provides and/or arranges for therapeutic interventions as appropriate for clients in a crisis condition and for those with serious disturbance problems.

Refers clients to appropriate social service agencies for financial assistance and other required services.

Establishes and maintains accurate and current case files, referrals, and other related documents for the treatment of clients; keeps abreast of client data to ensure appropriate treatment and care are delivered.

Maintains strict confidentiality and professional/ethical standards required by State and Federal statutes and by those standards generally accepted for counseling and social work practice. Ensure adherence to all The Bridge Inc policies, governing body regulations and CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) practices.

Must be willing to work with children and adolescents.

Spanish/bilingual a plus.
