TITLE OF POSITION: Mental Health First Aid Trainer

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma required. Associates degree preferred. Must pass KBI, DCF child & adult abuse registry, motor vehicle screen, and background checks. Must have reliable and insured transportation.

1. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

2. Familiar with social media programs & online platforms.

3. Extremely high attention to detail.

4. Operates efficiently in a variety of settings and offices.

5. Organized and effectively prioritize workload.

6. Ability to work independently.

7. Ability to be flexible with schedule.

8. Maintaining Center confidentiality policies is required.

NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK: Regular full-time position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Mental Health First Aid Trainer will assist day-to-day operations of the Mental Health First aid (MHFA) training program, including recruiting and organization of volunteers, arranging, and setting up training events, and being an advocate for the expansion of Mental Health First Aid in Southeast Kansas. Focusing on implementation and sustainability, the project director will work closely with community partners and volunteer trainers.

1. Assist the MHFA Project Director on Mental Health First Aid activities.

2. Build and nurture local partnerships.

3. Help plan, direct, and manage program services and operations.

4. Assist with project tracking for data collection.

5. Recruit Mental health First Aid instructors and assist with credentialing process.

6. Assist with “train the trainer” events.

7. Conduct community outreach to find partners willing to host MHFA training, including schools, the faith community, social service agencies and businesses.

8. Promote MHFA in the community.

9. Assist with logistics for MHFA trainings in the community, including being onsite to handle registration and supplies.

10. Assist with technical assistance and support to all instructors.

11. Assist with marketing strategies to update social media sites, websites, and create flyers and inform public regarding upcoming trainings.

12. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or the Chief Executive Officer.

SALARY: Per Pay Schedule

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
