As a Mental Health Technician for MiraVista in Holyoke, Massachusetts, you’ll bring your experience and knowledge where your voice matters. A Mental Health Technician is an integral part of our multidisciplinary treatment team. You’ll be working with patients and assisting nursing and clinical services with patient treatment plans. Some of your responsibilities will include assisting with the implementation of treatment plans, including but not limited to documenting goals and interventions.

As a Mental Health Technician, you will maintain a safe therapeutic milieu on inpatient psychiatric units. You will also conduct safety checks, monitor patients, assist with ADL’s, de-escalate acute situations, and provide supportive interactions with patients. You’ll make decisions that impact the lives of your peers, your patients, and your community. In exchange, we will care for you, as much as you care for our patients.

You Bring Meaningful Experience


Successful candidates will have the following:


  • Conduct patient observation and rounds.
  • Assists staff with patient care while following treatment plans.
  • Observe and monitor patient’s progress and reports observations to staff.
  • Develop a therapeutic relationship with patients while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living skills as necessary.
  • Provide appropriate supervision of patients’ activities.
  • All team members are expected to consistently demonstrate our values of integrity, compassion, respect, diversity, and teamwork.
  • Responsible for safety monitoring of patients of the unit.


Requirements


  • High school diploma with at least one year of related experience in a hospital/behavioral health setting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health, Human Services, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in psychiatric or substance inpatient, restraint reduction de-escalation, and crisis intervention is preferred.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to develop a therapeutic relationship while maintaining professional boundaries
