Mergers & Acquisition Professional Essential Functions

1. Performs field work on financial due diligence and accounting engagements.

2. Strong analytical skills and comfortable working with large volume of data using excel.

3. Analyze and synthesize target company data to identify historical and projected financial and operating trends.

4. Validate all the financial and operational assumptions being made to assess quality of earnings.

5. Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems.

6. Excellent communication skills, participate and coordinate meetings with various parties, including the buyers, sellers, investment bankers, lawyers, etc.

7. Organized, detail oriented, ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.

8. Create and design tailored transaction advisory reports addressing key issues and diligence findings.

9. Strong command of PowerPoint.

10. Monitors progress of engagements in relation to budgets and due dates.

11. Trains, supervises, and develops staff on engagements.

12. Reviews work before submission to managers for further review.

13. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

14. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects.

15. Prioritizes and manages multiple projects and deadlines.

16. Communicates effectively and serves as liaison among with managers, clients, and staff.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will train and develop staff.

Required Education and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in public accounting audit and/or corporate accounting.
  • CPA or working towards CPA designation.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • A high sense of urgency, strong initiative and the ability to multi-task.
  • BA/BS Degree, Accounting.
  • Experience working with privately held clients.
  • Must be able to travel to client locations.
  • Strategic thinker with strong organizational skills.
